If you use QuickBooks as your accounting package but have different software for your front-end cash registers, you might be interested to know that QuickBooks now has point-of-sale software and hardware. The new software integrates with QuickBooks and makes it easier to track sales, inventory, and customer information. IMPROVING EFFICIENCY THROUGH TECHNOLOGY - True Story…
In the later years of the go-go nineties it seemed nearly every week we heard about the tremendous efficiency gains attributed to technology. And as we now know, much of it was true!
From the beginning a respected professional services firm kept records of invoices, receivables, accrued receivables, etc. on paper ledger sheets. As the firm grew, and while the world around seemed to gain speed daily the bookkeeping/accounting group fell further and further behind. Getting solid financial information quickly was impossible, and what should have been part-time work took every bit of a full-time person.
Upgrading an existing p.c. to host the new small business accounting package and entering the firm's data to enable the paper system to be replaced by a technologically current one was the project. The day the first checks rolled-off the printer there were shouts and high-fives around the office. Implementing new technology, including inputting historical data and system installation, commissioning and training significantly improved efficiency and productivity for this StreamlineAccounting customer!
